Writing an otherworldly scene without making it sounds convoluted and clichéd is one of the toughest tasks of my stories, but it’s a necessary evil from time to time. It’s something that’s been missing from these early stories for far too long.
Today’s almost 3,000 words all contributed to a scene that currently runs for 4,500 words (that’s pretty lengthy for me), and the scene isn’t finished yet. I’m aiming for it to end with a happy reunion.
The closer I seem to get to the climax, the further away it gets from me. Two more scenes should see us ready to beard the lion in its den, with any luck.
